Mothers Day / Dad gets a homemade pedicure / Movie Night
Happy Mothers Day!
We had a small celebration for Mother's Day and all the kids made Mom a present at school. It was a small book on what they loved about Mom. We also made Mom her own hippie book bag with the kids pictures on it.

Kick ball season is underway - Pam suspended indefintely
Cul-de-sac Kick ball season is underway. There was a good turnout for the first game and everyone had a great time. There were no losers and even if some of the kids keeping score realized they were behind, all was forgotten when the Ice Cream Man came by at the end of the game.
On another note, Pam Streetar was suspended indefinitely for conduct unbecoming a kick ball parent. She twice, threw the kick ball and beaned kids in the head. Once knocking a neighbor boy down to the hard pavement. The good news is that his scars will heal by graduation - college graduation. And if not, there's always skin grafts. Pam even went after her own son, with a wicked bean ball off his head that sent him to the sidelines for a whiff of smelling salts. [don't let that smile fool you, she's a terror!]

Tooth Fairy makes a visit to Sam......again!
The tooth fairy stopped by again recently. Seems as though Sam was at a friends house sneaking caramels when he bit into a caramel and his tooth went with it. He was very pleased with the fact that this meant a visit from the fairy and she'd be leaving some money for Harry Potter Lego / xbox 360 he is saving for. btw: I'm hoping the tooth fairy is working for the federal government cause I'm going to need her to use the stimulus money to pay for all these teeth.
Cadi went to the orthopedic surgeon to check on her fractured elbow last Friday. Good news is that the cast is off! She's slowly getting her range of movement back and today she even fell off the bed and bumped her elbow. She said it stung and she's going to be more careful.
And that leaves Smelli Kelli. Well, she has all of her teeth and both elbows are working. But she's always up to something..................

Easter Day and the hunt for the baskets and eggs is on
We had beautiful weather on Easter day. Mid 60's. Hardly seems like spring in MN, more like summer.
The kids got up at 6:00 am to see if the bunny came and wala! Cadi found her basket first. It was on the main floor behind the table in the entry way. [Sam spotted it and then told Cadi] Next, Sam went and found his basket in the basement bedroom in the closet. And finally, Smelli Kelli looked all over the house and eventually found her basket behind a chair in her bedroom Next year I'm sure she'll start in her room first. -sneaky bunny-
We confirmed Cadi has a fractured elbow. She'll have this lovely purple cast on for 2 weeks and then we'll go back to see how things are knitting.

As you can see, she's right back up on the horse that bucket her off. She can swing with her cast on but only when mom ain't lookin!

Cadi sets a world record for swing jumping but breaks elbow in attempt!
Today Cadi set a new record for swing jumping but on her attempt she may have broken her elbow. Pam took her to the emergency room but they could not tell if there was a fracture because of the swelling. So tomorrow or Friday, she'll see an orthopedic Dr. for further assessment.
Cadi barely cried at all and was very brave at the Drs. office and went into the x-ray room all by herself.
When I talked with her while she was at the Drs. office, she did say, "The cool thing is that if I get a cast, people can write on it." Aaaaaaah, the silver lining as seen by a 7 yr. old.

The twins are splitting up
Cadi declared that she wants her own room. For the past 7 years [she's 7] she has shared a room with her twin brother, Sam. However, today she told me that she is ready to move on and take her own room. I anticipated some reservation on her making this declaration because the bedroom she is to move into is in the basement. You know, the dark, scary, full of monsters basement that exists in every house occupied by a 7 year old. But true to form, she dismissed the thought when I brought it up and told me she'll be ready to move once 1st grade lets out in June.
So I'm now in negotiation with her on what color I'll be painting her room.
I asked her twin Sam how he felt about Cadi moving down to the basement so which he replied, "so what, get her out of here." Where's the love? Sam has also already told me he wants his room repainted red, orange, and black. However he does want to keep the giraffe painted on his wall.
